FAQ
How long does it take?
Cloning happens in seconds. The first time you preview a voice, the AI model loads (~30s once per server restart). After that, hearing a sample takes a few seconds.
How long should my audio sample be?
5–30 seconds of clear speech is ideal. Longer doesn't help; shorter than 5 seconds may sound robotic. Read a few sentences in a quiet room.
Is my voice private?
Yes. By default only you can use voices you've banked. We do NOT train AI models on your voice samples. We log who uses each voice and when — that audit trail is visible only to you.
Can I delete a voice?
Yes, any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent — files are wiped, database row removed.
What about legal stuff?
You must check a consent box confirming you have the right to upload and use the voice. Voice cloning is generally legal for personal use; using someone's voice for fraud or impersonation is not. Read our terms before uploading.
Why is it free?
Because voice loss is one of the most isolating things a person can experience, and the technology shouldn't be locked behind a $22/month subscription. Writz absorbs the compute cost. If you find it valuable, consider upgrading to a paid Writz tier to support the program.
